National Manufacturing Day this year was celebrated on October 2nd. It is celebrated annually on the first Friday of October.
While it seems like every day of the year is a national day for some random thing, Manufacturing Day means a lot to everyone at Dunnage Engineering, as well as our suppliers and customers that are in the business of manufacturing products in the United States. Manufacturing is a very important industry, which provides good, dependable jobs throughout our nation. Manufacturing also supports our nation’s defense capabilities when needed. Many service jobs also would not exist if manufacturers and manufacturing employees were not around to need those services.
At Dunnage Engineering we all celebrate being in the manufacturing industry, but we especially celebrate everyone at our company who is directly involved with manufacturing our products every workday of the week (and sometimes on Saturdays)! Our team has the specialized skills to operate machines to make our products at the quality levels that our customers expect and complete making them on time with safety as their number one priority. That is not an easy thing to do, and it certainly isn’t for everyone.
On Manufacturing Day we celebrate being an important part of our industry by posting banners around our facility, bringing in pizza, cookies and soft drinks for everyone on all three shifts and thanking each other for the work that we do. Sometimes the work is harder than other days, but it is always rewarding knowing that we are an important part of the manufacturing industry.
